11. The Expert

Kneeling between his legs, Carmen licked her lips, uncertain of exactly how to proceed.

Thor seemed pretty exacting, that was for sure. Would he punish her if she did something he didn’t expect? But he was nothing like her last boyfriend. This man was dominant during sex, and God, she absolutely LOVED it. But he wasn't so damn inflexible and serious. He had told her that she could talk to him.

"Ummm, what do you want?" she asked tentatively.

He grinned playfully, his green eyes dancing. "I shall rely completely on your own initiative, skill and expertise. I'll give you free rein, because I want to see what you've got. Have at it, sweetheart. Surprise me."

Carmen grinned back at him. "Really?" she said, wondering if he was as easygoing as he seemed to be, and hoping that he wasn't hiding an unpredictable temper. "Are you sure?"

"I'm sure." He laughed and his mouth twitched into a crooked half smile. "You've made me curious now."

His trust and confidence in her made her ridiculously happy.

Not long ago Carmen had been on her third year of Law on a full scholarship at the University of California, Irvine. So much work had gone into getting there, and all for nada. Her ex, a jealous, woman-beating dickhead, had chained her up to prevent her taking her final exams.

It appeared that Carmen's lifetime of bad luck was still on track, but if she knew one thing, it was that shit sure as hell happens. So she was on the run and had lost her scholarship? Somehow she would find a safe refuge, earn the money necessary and complete her studies.

All I worked so hard for is gone, she thought. There's nothing much left to lose. Yet I'm alive and free. I'm also stubborn, smart and determined enough to stay that way.

Leaving everything was a life changing experience, she reflected. But it had also been liberating to a large degree. Now she had nothing to worry about except herself, although her current problems were more than enough to alarm anyone.

Things that had seemed so vital were no longer important.

Just waking up alive and unchained every day was an achievement.

She smiled. Today she was getting a lot more than that. This man affected her on an innermost feminine level. She couldn't question her primitive, bone-deep desire to please him and to see him smile. Right this minute it was all about pleasure for them both. The prospect thrilled her.

Thor's large, male hand stroked along her cheek, and she moved toward it, wanting to kiss and press herself into him. How was it that she felt so safe and comfortable with this big stranger? He seemed kind, and understanding, and he had a real sense of fun in him that simply set her free from all concern.

Carmen had never had a lover like him.

He made her laugh - at herself, at him, at the whole damn world.

She knew it wouldn’t last, but for now, she was going to enjoy every minute of this fantasy, this reprieve from her real life.
